Slackwater Pizza SLC serves up a solid neighborhood dining experience centered around creative, personal-pan-style pizzas paired with an impressively varied craft beer selection. Located just a few blocks from downtown Salt Lake City, it’s become a popular spot for casual dinners—especially on weekday evenings and weekends when the buzz picks up early.

Inside, Slackwater has a vibrant yet relaxed vibe that suits everything from laid-back beer nights to casual dates or small group hangouts. The garage-style front can open up on warmer days, adding a breezy, open-air feel that fits Salt Lake’s easygoing city pulse. You’ll often find groups gathered around the bar sampling from the extensive local and regional craft beers—a major draw for those who appreciate a thoughtfully curated pint alongside their meal.

The menu leans heavily into inventive pizza toppings and combinations, like the California Sunrise or the Tikka Masala Pizza, appealing to those who want something a bit beyond the typical slice. The personal pan size makes it easy to try a couple different options, and the crust strikes a balance between light and crisp without being too thin or doughy. For non-pizza eaters or salads lovers, dishes like the Cobb Salad or Mulligatawny Soup add a solid range of choices without overshadowing the focus on their signature pies.

Service here reflects the warm, unpretentious atmosphere—friendly bartenders and servers keep things moving efficiently even when the place gets busy after 5 or 6pm. It’s common to see a short wait during peak times, but the bar seating often opens up quicker for those who want to dive into a meal and some conversation without the delay.

Slackwater fits nicely into the local dining scene for Salt Lake residents who value approachable food with a twist and a strong local beer lineup. It’s a good pick for evenings out when you want something casual that still shows off a bit of culinary creativity, especially if you appreciate pairing your food with a well-paced beer flight. Whether you’re there to share a round of Nate’s Buffalo Wings or trying the Iron Horse Calzone, there’s a solid sense of community energy that comes through in the easygoing crowd and lively soundtrack of clinking glasses.

I've heard so much great about Slackwater, and honestly it was pretty good. I wouldn't say it's the "Best Pizza ive ever had" but for the vibes, the beer, and the huge # of creative options, it's pretty awesome. Beer selection is pretty un paralled for SLC. I had a Hot honey Pepperoni, and my partner had the California (i think it was called). Pizzas are personal pan style, and maybe thats what separates it from other places. The dough is good the topping are good, but something about a small slice that doesn't have the full spectrum of a regular sized pie. The cheese pull, the undercarriage, all that stuff, ya know? We also had these spicy cranberry Hot wings that were money! Season menu item, and very good. All that being said, I would recommend checking this spot out. Foods good, beers great, vibes are high!

Well you can tell by the picture that it was frigging delicious!! The chicken wings were so tasty and had a little crisp to them and that pizza, Sparta, was amazing. Perfect light, crisp crust and so flavorful!! I will definitely be back to this place! Huge beer selection and friendly service. Was starting to get busy when we got there right around 5, so joined waitlist but ended up finding a couple stools at the bar and by the time we left the waitlist was quite long I'm sure. Definitely a busy place but oh so worth it.

My wife & I had dinner at SLACKWATER at 7pm on a Friday. When we arrived the host told us that there would be an hour & 25 minute wait for a table, but if seats at the bar opened up we could sit there. We were very very lucky to see 2 people leaving the bar & we took their seats. The bartender was friendly. we shared a SANTA FE SALAD, THE BUTTERNUT PIZZA, (with butternut squash sauce, sausage, shallots, a three-cheese blend, and goat cheese crumbles), a RED ROCK DOUBLE IPA, and the TASTES LIKE BURNING pizza (with spicy marinara, three-cheeses, pepperoni, roasted chipotle, red onions, roasted garlic, & jalapeños). These 12" pizzas are incredible. The crust was cooked perfectly and tasted like honey. the beer was delicious. We were told about SLACKWATER by an employee named Journey, and can say that this was one of the best meals we had on our 10 day road trip vacation. We spent $81.23 tip included. If I lived near SLC I would eat here all the time.

We ate here on a Thursday at 5 o’clock and it was already busy. Which is a good indicator for how good the food was. I got the California pizza and it was great. My wife got the Cobb salad good. The service was great. Our server got us the food quickly. There are several other pizzas on the menu that I would like to try. We will have to come back again a few times to try them out.

The atmosphere is really fun and we had a wonderful dinner. I loved that I could make a reservation online through Google maps and not have to wait in line at the restaurant. Our table came up right as we got there and it was perfect! They had live music which was fun. Or was a perfect night for weather (like 75°) so the garage part was open and we had some outdoor air which was nice. We ordered chips with half guacamole and half salsa/pico de Gallo. The guacamole was amazing & we wish we had just gone with full guac, the chips were also good. We ordered different personal pizzas and shared a little. Everyone was thrilled with what they ordered, the pizzas were really delicious. The waiter gave us some great recommendations. I especially loved the Margarita pizza and the California Sunrise. For dessert we split an order of peach beignets. It was a large plate of little beignets that has some powered sugar and diced peaches with a large scoop of whipping cream. It was decadent and it was enough for all 5 of us. We went home with leftovers for tomorrow. I loved this restaurant and will definitely be back. The service was fabulous, there was live music (it's a Friday night), the food was amazing and the atmosphere was fun.

We decided to try this because we saw the review on barstool. We had a wait time of about 40 minutes. Honestly I’m fine with that though, I was excited to try a new place. Our group opened with the spinach artichoke dip. The chips were good quality and tasty, except we all felt that they could use some salt. We all agreed that the dip was incredible, I would recommend giving it a shot. My wife and I shared a pepperoni hot honey pizza and a southern comforts pizza. We think the barstool guy nailed his review. The crust was crunchy and very well made, possibly the best I’ve had. It was also light, which was nice. The cheese wasn’t our favorite, and we had mixed opinions on toppings. My wife thought they were sparse but I thought the quantity was perfect. The quality was fine but I was hoping for something more after our wait. Overall, I would recommend giving this place a shot. I don’t think I’ll be coming here if there’s another long wait, but I’d for sure get takeout. The service was great, no complaints, and the atmosphere is top tier.

I visited here from Florida to meet my long distance boyfriend for the first time, we got an airbnb down town so you can just walk here! The place was buzzing and there is a waitlist but they were fast, we were gonna do take out but then decided to sit at the bar and they brought us our pizza. We ordered cheese sticks too and some ipas, sooo good. The service was really fast too. Also I have to comment on the decor and art all over, brings the place to life and such a chill vibe. I love the local artists sticker machine, so cool to see this city support local artists! Very surprised by how good the pizza was! So many options to choose from too. No wonder the place was bumping! I highly recommend, an I’ll be back in November to visit again! Can’t wait! So glad I found this gem! If I could give more than 5 stars I would!

Super good. I got the Hot Honey Double Pepperoni pizza, and it was delicious. It had a really good crust that had a lushious layer of hot honey on the top of the pizza. The employees and servers were excellent as well. 5 stars!
